Jill Coast Named Principal of Stavely School

Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Jill Coast has been named Principal of Stavely School beginning January 6, 2025. 

Coast holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Lethbridge. She has more than 27 years of teaching experience, primarily at the elementary school level. Coast has worked with Livingstone Range School Division since 1998 and most recently has been the Connections Lead Teacher at F.P. Walshe School in Fort Macleod. She is trained in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as well as Leader in Me, and was the Lighthouse Coordinator on the team who took W.A. Day Elementary School to Lighthouse status.

"Jill brings strong leadership and a clear vision for advancing student learning and achievement," says Richard Feller, Deputy Superintendent, Human & Learning Services. "Jill's focus on building meaningful relationships with students, families, and the broader community will ensure that every child feels supported and empowered to reach their full potential. She will undoubtedly continue the great work being done at Stavely School and is committed to moving the school towards even greater success."

Raised on a ranch outside of Fort Macleod, Coast loves the peace and balance of small town, rural Alberta. She and her husband James are the parents of two children, a daughter in her third year of university and a son in Grade 11. She loves cheering on family at sporting events, travelling to places with warm oceans, and attending concerts. When she needs to relax and reboot, Coast can be found walking outdoors, reading a great book, watching documentaries, and spending time with friends.
